Our main campus proudly serves as the HQ of Hineni, the official youth and welfare movement of The Central Synagogue. Hineni welcomes participants from all Jewish backgrounds and its overarching mission is to empower Jewish youth to cultivate Modern Orthodox and pluralist Zionist identities, all-the-while actualising social and political change.

It is a soulful space where forever friends are made and it simultaneously builds a network of like-minded, socially conscious young people. Leadership skills and opportunities are developed early on with Year 10 students invited to become leaders (assisting at junior camp and more). There are so many pathways available to prepare for responsible and vital roles representing our faith and community – with all having such fun along the way.

Hineni offers a range of camps and regular activities for children from the ages of 7-18, always planned and run by a dedicated group of volunteer leaders. Camps are held four times per year with the Summer Senior camp designated as a Federal Camp, affording all campers the opportunity to forge friendships and expand networks with other campers from interstate. Each camp is experiential, with ideas and knowledge shared that are all so empowering and enriching.

Both Juniors (Year 2-Year 6) & Seniors (Year 7-Year 12) meet fortnightly with cool activities planned both on and off campus. The leaders, madrichim and madrichot – meet weekly each Wednesday, always learning and growing under the guidance of Rabbi Tzuri.

For those finishing high school, there is an incredible Israel-based Shnat program on offer (over 10.5 months) that encompasses all that Hineni holds true: with components seamlessly fused that are educational, experiential and which incorporate volunteering too. Without doubt a formative experience with Holy Land-based memories that last a lifetime!

It is no surprise that with this fantastic foundation, Hineni’s youth leaders over the decades have continually personified the continuity our community craves with so many now proudly at the helm of Australia’s Jewish communal institutions.
