The Central Synagogue offers a range of beautifully designed spaces for hire – perfect for any occasion!
Our venues are ideal for everything from educational classes and community meetings to special celebrations such as weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.
Conveniently located, our state-of-the-art Synagogue provides a variety of amenities to make your event seamless and enjoyable, including underground parking, Shabbat-friendly lifts, fully equipped industrial kosher kitchens, catering facilities, and disabled access.
We offer four independent event zones, each thoughtfully designed to accommodate different group sizes and styles. Whether you’re marking a Jewish lifecycle moment or hosting a community event, our elegant spaces ensure your gathering is both meaningful and memorable.

Our Spaces
The John Saunders Hall
Located at the top of the synagogue’s sweeping marble staircase, our largest and most elegant hall offers a versatile setting for any event or celebration. This impressive space features a built-in dance floor and can be styled to suit everything from formal dinners to milestone Simchas. For added convenience, it also includes a spacious, fully equipped kosher kitchen – ideal for caterers.
The sophisticated upstairs foyer serves as the welcoming entry to the hall and can also be used as a dedicated reception area. With this venue, the possibilities for creative event design are virtually limitless.

The Triguboff Family Foyer
This light-filled, architecturally stunning space has undeniable ‘wow’ factor and forms part of the impressive entrance to the synagogue. Highly versatile, it can be adapted for a wide range of seated or standing events, including exhibitions, displays, cocktail parties, and catered events such as brunches and dinners, offering endless possibilities

The Leo & Hedy Weinstock Art Gallery Hall
Affectionately known within The Central family as the ‘Green Room’, this versatile rectangular space features a striking vertical garden wall with an artistic Star of David design. Stylish and highly functional, it can be configured for a wide range of events from mid-week gatherings using the state-of-the-art screen and projector to cocktail-style functions taking advantage of the built-in bar.
Its flexibility makes it ideal for everything from a Kiddush or standing L’Chaim to a generously sized sit-down Shabbath dinner. Long tables and contemporary chairs are available and the adjoining kosher kitchen provides convenient access for caterers.

The Lowy Beit Midrash
If you are looking for a more intimate venue, this warm and inviting space is ideal for smaller indoor gatherings and is often set up in a theatre-style layout.
For added flexibility, bi-fold doors along one wall can be opened to seamlessly extend the event into the adjoining foyer – perfect for expanding your guest list for a range of Simchas, including Kiddushim. The space also features a conveniently located, well-equipped kosher kitchen.
